Winter is over here in Vancouver. The cherry blossoms are fully awake to the spring sunshine. The sidewalks in my neighbourhood are littered with fallen pink petals. It's as if there's a velvet runway laid out in front of me as I walk through the streets, a delicate gift from a new season. The air is fresh. The buds are breaking through the dewy soil. The birds sing harmoniously, waking up the northern hemisphere after a restful slumber.
This is undoubtedly my favourite season, and it’s not because my birthday falls inside this phase of the yearly cycle (although being a Taurus sun is my biggest flex). I’m simply obsessed with the aliveness that exists here. It’s such a potent time for remembering what was, before it all retreated into darkness. A reminder that the darkness always recedes and the light will once again return.
Nothing is forever.
As winter wanes, spring blooms right before our eyes. The light and warmth reenter, flooding our senses and breathing life back into Mother Earth. And nature doesn’t resist this ancient rhythm. The buds don’t question if they’ll bloom. The bees don’t overthink their flight. The trees don’t cling to last season’s leaves.
They simply trust that the light will arrive, in time.
It’s made me think a lot about how much more easeful life would be if we reconnected to this deep sense of surrender. If we let go of the need to control and replace it with unwavering trust that it's all unfolding exactly as it’s supposed to. If we embraced the quiet knowing that there is something so much bigger at play, guiding us all forward. Because there is, we’ve just been conditioned to ignore and disconnect from this universal wisdom. Especially as women. And I believe that reconnecting to this greater cosmic force begins with learning how to trust ourselves again.
Because how can we surrender to life if we don’t first feel safe within our own being?
To trust ourselves is to remember. It’s to sew back together what was severed and reclaim what was left behind. It’s to return home to what you’ve always known to be true. It’s tuning back into this ancient rhythm, to the cyclical nature of your being, to the greater whole you’ve been intricately woven into. And this remembrance doesn’t happen all at once. It happens slowly. Gently. Tenderly. And always held with immense compassion and love.
It lives in the way your body softens when something feels deeply aligned. In the subtle yes that hums beneath the noise of other people’s opinions. In the flicker of recognition when you finally hear your own voice again, after seasons of silencing it. Sometimes, it looks like the decision to pause before saying yes to something that doesn’t feel quite right. The courage to disappoint others in service of your Truth.
The moment you don’t spiral after making a “wrong” choice because deep down, you know there’s wisdom woven into every misstep. It looks like paying attention and listening to your body again. To your intuition. To your dreams.
Trust is rebuilt in these quiet, ordinary moments.
And just like the steady unfolding of spring, trusting ourselves is a process. Unhurried, organic, and inevitable when we allow it to be. It’s there, beneath the surface, waiting to bloom, even when we’ve spent seasons, years, lifetimes doubting it. As the cherry blossoms return each year, so too can our connection to the truth of who we are. It’s always been there, patiently waiting for us to remember, to return home.
All we need to do is listen.
So, as the light pours in, as the buds break open, allow yourself the same grace. Trust that, like nature, you are always in a state of becoming. And when you feel the whisper of your own knowing, don’t ignore it.
With love,

Oh so beautiful xx
I recently wrote about this too — this concept of trust in our lives. I love how you put it though — to trust is to remember. To be able to hear that voice again. And yet to hear it, we must first trust ourselves. It’s a cycle. “How can we surrender to life if we don’t first feel safe within our own being?” Beautifully put. Thank you 🫶🏼
